Compassion | There's No Greater Gift You Can Give To The Animals Than A Plant-Based Diet.
Compassion is defined as the feeling that arises when you are confronted with another’s suffering and feel motivated to relieve that suffering. Compassion is action oriented. No one wants to intentionally cause harm. But we grew up with the notion of “dominion over animals.” Is it right to think that humans are the only ones whose lives matter? Many people have pets who are family members. Why are these animals special and not others? What is a non-violent way to live? What does this mean on a practical level? How do I live my life according to compassion? Part of the mission of SWFL Veg Fest is to enable people to reconsider their relationships with animals as commodities in order to incorporate a more compassionate lifestyle that benefits their own health, the health of the planet, and all living beings. Come to SWFL Veg Fest – we will have a nationally known speaker on animal rights, vendor products, food demos, books, animal adoptions, and lots of people willing to help you continue or start your journey of compassion!
Health | There's No Greater Gift You Can Give To Your Own Health Than A Plant-Based Diet.
Properly administered whole-food plant-based diets can prevent, stop, and reverse disease, with life-changing results. In fact, such specific diets are now actually being prescribed as medicine here in SWFL. It’s exciting that SWFL is the worldwide epicenter of this new physician use of food as medicine movement! Join us at our SWFL Veg Fest & learn the latest from our vendors, speakers & chefs. This historic paradigm shifting of our healthcare system is happening right here in our local community! It’s long been known that true healthcare actually consists of the food a person chooses to eat.
Planet | There's No Greater Gift You Can Give To Our Planet Than A Plant-Based Diet.
It may not be as widely known, or understood, but conventional animal farming is one of the most destructive forces our planet faces. The resources used to produce animal based food products are neither sustainable nor necessary. Everything from water, to land, to food itself is being used at levels that we simply cannot maintain. Reducing demand for animal-based products could have immensely positive benefits for our planet.
